Adam Here he is with our tip of the day. Dana Brunetti, the creator of the tip of the day. What is your tip of the day, sir?
Dana Brunetti Well, you didn’t like a couple of my past ones, so I brought a couple here. So if you don’t like it, I can do another one. So the first tip I have is: do not install software updates the day they drop, or even the day after.
Adam Especially not on your Apple products. That is a very bad idea. Have you gotten bricked by any of this in the past?
Dana Brunetti No, I haven’t had any problems, but I know people that have. But I’ve also always waited. I usually wait. Unless it’s like a security update, where they’re harping that you’ve got to do something because there’s something they messed up and you’re vulnerable and exposed. Then you do them. Otherwise, wait a few days before you do it. Let all the bugs get worked out.
Adam A genius tip of the day. You have another one, just in case?
Dana Brunetti Yeah, I got a couple more if you want.
Adam Yeah, sure. Do them all.
Dana Brunetti When you go to dinner and you’ve got a couple of friends there, and people start bickering about how much it is to split it up: use Venmo. Just pay the bill, and then you split it up four ways on Venmo. It sends the request to however many people are chipping in, and it automatically does the exact number to split it up. And then hopefully you don’t have to send reminders to get them to pay you on the Venmo.
Adam I can see your daughter rolling her eyes right now, saying, “Okay, Dad. Gen Xer.”
Dana Brunetti I got one more.
Adam One more. All right.
Dana Brunetti This is for the people that ship things from the post office. Post office scales, they round up. So it’s better to weigh your stuff yourself and print your own labels. Because if you’re shipping a lot of stuff over time, and they’re rounding up to the next pound, it can be a lot of money over time.
Adam I can just hear JCD going, “Oh, brother.”
