John All right. Well, we’ve been trying to keep things low priced. I don’t like to bring in, you know, we had people complained about us recommending a TV.

Adam Told you that wasn’t a good idea.

John It was a good idea for people who need to know.

Well, I got another expensive item here.

Adam Oh, OK.

John Two hundred ninety nine dollars.

Adam Well, that’s up there.

John And I recommend if people haven’t moved to these these high density hard disks, I’d say start now because this is doesn’t even it’s not even a bare drive. This is in one of the enclosures. This is a 22 terabyte Seagate drive.

Adam Holy moly. I need this.

John Yes, you do. 299 bucks. These high density Seagate drives have been out for about three or four years.

Adam What does high density mean?

John That means it’s got more than 20 terabytes.

Adam Oh, I said thought it was something special. I didn’t understand.

John Well, it is special because two hundred ninety nine bucks is what you used to pay. I remember when I was a kid, I got that was comdex. Yeah. And I forgot what hard disk company, one of the hard Mac store or Prairie Tech or one of these guys that is long since out of business. This was way back. And this is when the nine terabyte drive first showed up. I’m sorry. Let me back up the nine gigabyte drive.

Adam Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Nineteen eighty seven. I bought. I think it was a Seagate external SCSI connected drive for my Mac Plus. It was two hundred ninety nine dollars for 20 megabytes.

John That sounds right. Yeah. So this guy says to me. It was nine gigabytes. This is the story coming out. These nine gigabyte drives. And there was about about two ninety nine. One of the companies out of business says to me, I don’t know what these guys are thinking. Who is going to trust nine gigabytes on one spindle? That’s the exact quote.

Adam Yeah. Well, you get the heads touching that disk. You’re screwed.

John So you got you got your nine gigabytes lost to risky. So now we have twenty two terabytes.

Adam Now, do you have one of these?

John No, no, I have an 18. But I’m getting one of these now because I looked itover. I looked at all the reviews and everything. This is the thing is that when they had the 18s, which were nice, they were bare drive. So you had to buy one of the enclosures or you had to put it in.

Adam No, you don’t want that. That’s a pain.

John Well, you do if you have the enclosures. The enclosures are OK.

Adam Yeah. And how big is this thing? How big is it?

John It’s a three and a half, three point five inch drive. It’s small. Yeah, it is with the connector. You just put in a USB 3.0 connector on it and and you’re ready to go. It’s a beauty.

And $299. 22 terabytes. Don’t fool around. Let’s start here and we’ll go from there. I’d highly recommend it. The Seagate high capacity. I shouldn’t use high density because it’s confusing. The high capacity Seagate drives of dynamite.

Adam Well, you kind of had me at high density. Now you’re like pulling back. It was high capacity. That’s not the same thing.

John It is to me.
