John’s VPN of choice

John’s VPN of choice

John: So this tip comes from the last show we did, where I had to move my gear over to another machine and you went on and on about how great I sounded.

Adam: Yeah, you actually sounded great

John: Well, then after the show was over and I moved stuff around, I noticed that – as great as I sounded – I was actually coming in from South America on a VPN.

Adam: Oh really?

John: Yeah, that’s also what I said. So I want to recommend a VPN: the one I use! I’ve done enough research on VPN’s. I don’t like the fact this VPN exists in the US, because they could be a spook operation but I’m not sure. This VPN does a fabulous job with bandwidth. If you send out a fast 1Gigabit signal, it comes back faster than you’d imagine.

The last show we did came in from South America. So I’m shipping my voice to South America and it’s doing a turnaround and coming back into Texas and it sounded great, as Adam said.

So this product is Private Internet Access, and this is the VPN I recommend.

Adam: Yeah, its PIA, just one letter different from “you know who”…

John: So… eh… yes, from CIA.

Adam: Only use it for your podcast, people!

John: So a VPN comes in handy for any kind of illicit activities. It also prevents you from getting certain kinds of diseases of the net. It doesn’t prevent you from getting various malware, from what I can tell. It does do a good job of keeping you isolated.
