iplocation.net

John: I have a website selection that’s very valuable for people who like to at least see who’s talking to them or sending them email. It’s the best of the group: iplocation.net

It finds your IP address, or you put in an IP address and it tells you where it is. But it doesn’t just do it with one source, it’s actually a meta site that looks at a bunch of different sources. So you get a bunch of possibilities.

Adam: So is it going to find my address now?

John: Yeah, as soon as you load it, it will give you your address immediately.

Adam: Let’s see how it does. Let me paste this in here… I’m clicking the button—it says I’m in Greatwood, Texas.

John: Now put in somebody else’s IP address and it’ll give you like eight selections.

Adam: Oh, hold on a second. Now this one says I’m in Kyle. This one says I’m in Dallas. Oh, Fredericksburg. There it is. We got Sugar Land too. Interesting.

John: In most cases it’s all the same, but some flaky IP guys—since they’re all over the place—I don’t know what network you’re on, they’ll give you some estimates.

Adam: I don’t like flaky IP guys. Those guys are no good.
