John: If you remember in the early days of the internet, every phone company had its own yellow pages and search engines.
Adam: Wait a minute. I’m actually in the printed Yellow Pages. Do you remember that book?
John: Yeah, I remember it. That was done by McGraw-Hill.
Adam: Yep.
John: And then, all of that went by the wayside. Next thing you know, you have to pay for every piece of information. You can’t get phone numbers or details about anybody anymore without having to go through rigamarole. It’s almost impossible—except for this one search engine, I think.
Adam: Oh boy.
John: And it doesn’t work with a VPN. The search engine is called TruePeopleSearch.com.
Adam: Oh, wow.
John: It’ll show you where someone lives, where they’ve lived before, who they’re married to, where they work, their phone number, email, and more. It’s really good. So you can track down your old buddies using this. But it’s a little weak when it comes to email addresses because it just lists a bunch of them.
I have a tip for finding someone’s email address, though:
You find a source like TruePeopleSearch, look someone up, and note all the email addresses listed. Then, put one email in the “To” field and the rest in the BCC field of an email. Send a message. You’ll get kickback notices for the bad addresses, and from there, you can quickly figure out the person’s actual email.
Adam: Wow.
John: Yeah.
Adam: This is horrible. This is absolutely horrible.
John: That’s why I was reluctant to share it.
Adam: I can see why. You’re all over this thing.
John: Oh, yeah. Luckily, I have multiple houses, so I can kind of hide.
Adam: So they can firebomb all your houses? Great.
John: I think it’s a tip that needs to be out there. It saves money, and you can find people.
Adam: Sure.
John: You can find phone numbers, call them up, and say hello.
Adam: Like Dana Brunetti. Easy to find.
John: Exactly.
Adam: That’s… cool, I guess.
John: Yeah, just call them up and say hi.
