Jay and Mimi bought a couple of memory cards off of Amazon recently, and they were bad. They were counterfeits. They didn’t even work.
I don’t run into this so much on Amazon, but if you go to AliExpress (note: John advises against buying from AliExpress), almost all the memory you buy from them is no good. It’s just fake. They have kinda the right packaging, but if you take a better look you’ll see it looks a bit fishy.
With Amazon, the Tip of the Day is: Look at the 1-star reviews of all the memory you buy from Amazon. Since it’s the season of reveal, it will be revealed in these reviews if the product is bullcrap. Especially if the product comes from an external vendor.
This way it’s very easy to spot and you’re not making the mistake of buying faulty products.
